7-year-old fat children have artery disease
Italy and the United States researchers found that only 7-year-old obese children already have artery disease. The researchers examined 100 obese children and found that they have started the carotid artery thickening and hardening, and these obese children there are still great tendency to have diabetes.
The researchers selected 100 overweight children aged 6-14, with 47 of their normal weight children for comparison. The results showed that these obese children of insulin resistance (a measure of tendency to diabetes indicators) than normal weight children to be much higher.
At the same time these obese children's blood pressure and cholesterol levels are higher. For example, these obese children, the average blood pressure was 120/70, and normal weight children, the average blood pressure was 98/65.
More importantly, the ultrasound scan showed that obese children of carotid artery thickness than normal children more and more hardware. For adults, arterial thickening arteries is considered a sign of coronary heart disease and narrow.
It is estimated that 15 percent of U.S. children overweight or obese. In many European countries, the proportion of obese children is increasing year by year. In China there are 12 per cent of children obese or overweight and obese children will quickly damage the artery. The body of overweight children and normal weight children compared with the probability of heart disease and stroke to be 3-5 times higher.
